Top Seven Tips When Starting A Business
1) If you can, continue to work another job in readiness your personal dynasty. Having an additional income at the outset of your brand-new happy path will allow you the freedom of not stressing over the ticking clock and potentially dwindling resources. If money isn't a problem, hey, go for it like a man/woman burning.
2) Get the focus on. Your own business plan is nice, as it gives you a path; however staying focused is the numero uno requirement of getting to where you wish to go. If investing a lot of time into a strategic business plan can help you process, go for it! If investing a lot of time into a strategic business plan is more of a distraction do a different type of strategic plan. If you're a new business a business plans 'projections' are pure fiction, so create and implement an agenda that is going to make you stay focused and end up forgetting that which you 'feel' you need to create.
3) Along the lines of staying focused, do not buy a lot of items that will just distract you. Same goes for work place. Before you know your specifics and also have a focused timeline limit the distractions.
4) Know yourself...I am talking honest assessment. None people are great so what we're looking for here is to know ourselves well enough to work with and around what we know may be self-imposed stumbling blocks, etc.
5) Know your family/friends...For those who have a vision and in your gut know you are on the right path stay on it. Family and friends possess the propensity to err on the side of caution or sometimes criticism with regards to something they aren't acquainted with. Accept it is from the host to love, or jealousy or wherever and do not allow it to deter you.
6) Discover the like minded...Find those who think like you and therefore are on the path or on the path you want to go. There is tremendous value in tapping into the experience of someone who is ahead of you. Believe me, they will be flattered you asked.
7) Take action...Proceed with action rather than just chatter. It's your decision to act. Act on your own behalf because it will be you who experiences the end result. Do not expect others to carry you. Here's your deal as well as your experience. That isn't to say don't ask for help (see #6). Just don't overextend your stay when tapping into others.
There's a ton of great ideas out there. Many of them never pass 'Go' and never collect their $200 though. So, above all else, remember all of the planning and talking, consulting and confabbing on the planet won't enable you to get in which you wish to go. Plan, after which act.
